About Allison

Allison Shapiro

Hello! I am Allison. I’m a daughter, a friend, a sister, a granddaughter. I’m perfectly imperfect by the grace of God. I have two dachshunds, Lucy, the Amish Sheriff, and Annie, my Little Fluff of Love. My alter ego is Ms. Shapiro when I am teaching my fourth graders, but the name is like nails on a chalkboard any other time. Alter egos should be left in the closet after the day is done. 🙂
I am originally from Arlington, Texas, where I grew up for sixteen years before moving to the mountains of Tennessee. I have taught elementary school for (gulp) thirteen years, most of those years in Tennessee. I am a natural born clutz, writer, and dreamer.

I have two amazing little dachshunds: Lucy, my red short hair, and Little Annie, my long hair blonde. Lucy is definitely in charge and Annie definitely has no choice but to accept reality and obey it.

My name was borrowed from two amazing women: my great grandmother and my grandmother. They are both the sun, moon, and stars for me.

I am an avid reader, an avid dreamer, and an avid pig collector. Clutter just makes me comfortable.

I am a self professed terrible communicator, yet somehow paper and pencil are my superpowers. They have always given me the ability to say what is too uncomfortable and awkward to slide off my tongue. I do hope that through my crazy stories, my reflections, my silly dachshund stories-that you will find companionship and blessing. Or at least a good laugh.
